About

Seattle-based multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, producer, educator, and Twitch streamer, MariGo (Mari Aweidah), is a tender force to be reckoned with. The daughter of a musical doctor and a painter, MariGo’s upbringing included taking piano lessons with her sisters, leaving school to catch Chicago Symphony Orchestra rehearsals, and eventually a degree in classical voice from the University of Denver. But the rigidity of the classical music world didn’t fit MariGo, an artist who thrives on meshing together different muses. Instead, she set out to write her own music and explore more experimental sounds—like the otherworldly pop of artists like Bjork and Kimbra, and the kaleidoscopic production of Flying Lotus and Pretty Lights.

In addition to her work in the studio, MariGo is a mesmerizing live performer. Early to the live streaming game, she has been performing live music on Twitch for two years. Catch her on Twitch every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, where she performs covers and originals, creating full arrangements of songs with live looping and soaring vocals. If you’re lucky, you might even catch her singing some opera!

Since opening Ableton Live for the first time in 2016, MariGo has become a master of the production software, and is part of the elite group of Ableton Certified Trainers, making her one of eight women in the United States to hold the certification. She teaches Ableton Live for individuals and leads group classes for women/trans/nonbinary students in her pursuit to overcome gender inequality and misrepresentation of women and LGBTQ people in the technical aspects of music making.
