Artist Bio

Ragav is a melodic prog-metal and grunge bass player, guitar player and singer. He currently performs for two projects.

• Homefree: His primary focus is his solo project "Homefree" where he is the singer, songwriter and guitar player. Homefree is a melodic prog-metal album influenced by Ragav's personal immigration story and his new found life in 2024.

• Variety Pack: Ragav is the bass player and sound engineer for Variety Pack, an Alice in Chains tribute band.

Ragav is also a concert photographer that covers seattle-based bands, usually as a service and for no-charge.

Influences

Ragav's early influences include Indian metal bands such as Motherjane and Avial. He is also highly influenced by Carnatic tradition of music and of score composers such as Allah Rakha Rahman and Ilaiyaraaja. Outside of Indian artists, Ragav has eclectic set of inspirations from Seattle's own Alice in Chains and Soundgarden to Iron Maiden, Opeth and Aristocrats.
