R&B Looking for Gigs Active Soul antifascist swamp rock
The bastard lovechild of Waylon Jennings and Nancy Sinatra ambles into his local, orders a whiskey and then hacks into the sound system with his Zune player. Soon, "Golden Brown" by The Stranglers fills the darkened bar.
After downing his shot and pocketing the latest edition of Freedom Socialist, he walks out into the early afternoon Rat City sun singing "Toxic” by Britney Spears in an octave lower than dirt.
Such is the illusory life of Roxbury Saints singer, Dan Steely.
Armed with raw, catchy, swamped-out, and soulful originals penned by Steely (and his co-writer Fumi Tanaka), guitarist Randy Lee Fader, bassist Matt Setter, keyboardist Lars Henricksen, and drummer Kelly Berry, Roxbury Saints have collectively honed their brand of "black-eyed soul" in their Rat City clubhouse since autumn 2023.
With members from esteemed Pacific Northwest bands such as The Dusty 45s, Nightcaps, Gravy & the Biscuit Rollers, Tiny Hat Orchestra, Electric Shades of Blue, and Zipgun, Roxbury Saints are a new band with strong promise—and a storied past.
